Two Shakespeare productions a year, every year. Additionally, the Classical Reading Series explores the works of some of those playwrights who were contemporaries of Shakespeare, and those whose works have been profoundly influenced by Shakespeare.
The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival Youth Ensemble, a company of student actors, grades 9–12, meet Monday evenings from September to June for training and rehearsals with professional actors and artists. Rehearsals will culminate in a full performance of a play in June, cast exclusively with student actors. The program will be free of charge to students who can commit to the yearlong program.
